The Kulim facility – our largest high-technology manufacturing site – produces First Solar’s advanced thin film PV modules for applications around the world. In 2018, First Solar Kulim began retooling for the launch of our new Series 6 module technology, with annualized production capacity of 1.2GW in 2018.

The Kulim facility employs approximately 3,000 local associates, providing the Kedah, Malaysia community with reliable high-tech jobs that span the entire manufacturing spectrum. Certified in Quality, Environmental Management and Occupational Health and Safety, the facility has a manufacturing injury rate well below the industry average.
