Boston Scientific commenced operations at its new manufacturing plant in Batu Kawan Industrial Park, Penang in September 2017.  The plant spans 375,000 sq ft over a 20-acre (8.1ha) parcel. It is the 17th global manufacturing facility for Boston Scientific, and its first in Asia. The  Batu Kawan facility produces products for its cardiovascular, endoscopy, and urology divisions. Boston Scientific has more than 13,000 products in its global portfolio.
